It’s really frustrating whenever Cydia updates are installed whenever we run it, followed by the annoying “reloading data” screens. Cydia still doesn’t support multitasking. However, the problem has been solved once and for all thanks to SBSettings toggles and now Cydia can be updated in the background without any issues.

However, you should note that you are required to install SBSettings from Cydia before proceeding further and also do not try to use the following while Cydia is running or has items in the Queue.

· Aptupdate for SBSettings

This toggle updates and upgrades your Apt cache and packages in the background. All you have to do is to press the button and you are free to do something else while your phone updates.

· Debian Updater for SBSettings

Debian Updater is a toggle for SBSettings to update in background the package database reflecting your newest sources.list file. In other words, you can refresh your Cydia source list everywhere (on Springboard or lockscreen, or within any app), without launching Cydia app.

For this you certainly require a Jailbroken iOS device else there is no use even thinking of trying to do the above. If you are new to Jailbreaking and don’t know how to jailbreak your iOS device then follow the guides below:
