Ok, so something really is wrong on the Apple end. Is it a security breach in the database or some inside guy has decided to become very very rich. Last night we reported about the official unlock solution for AT&T locked iPhone 4 users. Now we have some three different sources claiming to have access to the database and they can factory unlock iPhone 4 locked to any carrier. The price is pretty high and almost everyone is charging $170 – $180. We have different sites confirming the procedure is legal, I don’t understand how but it is legal according to them. Although I would never recommend spend $180 to unlock an iPhone. But we are not hearing anything from The Dev Team and Gevey is just not a way to do it. Its a hassle is one thing and its not legal so yeah.

The new discovery in the unlocking game is Negri Electronics people at modmyi trust these guys and we trust modmyi. This is a remote unlocking solution for iPhone 4 and all you have to do is follow the procedure and your IMEI will be added to the Apple’s database.

The site has the complete procedure and if you are rich or crazy enough to spend this much amount go ahead and set yourself free.

Next in line is a Company CutYourSim, they are claiming to do the same for some $180. This is coming from @chronic the famous hacker / developer. So again, we trust him and he trusts these guys.

tip: my man @CutYourSim is selling perm iPhone unlock, not sure how procedure works, but you give IMEI & end up with factory unlocked phone.

So the point is, you now unlock iPhone 4 on AT&T or any other carrier. This is not going to last forever as soon as the word is out to Apple they are going to look into this. So if you cant wait and if are willing to take the risk you can try these methods.

These unlock means:

  • You can unlock iPhone 4 on any iOS version
  • You can unlock baseband 2.10.04 / 3.10.01 / 4.10.01
  • You can unlock almost all carriers, including AT&T
  • All the above means you’ll have a Factory Unlocked iPhone 4 and life’s going to be great
  • If any of the above solutions work for you wait for a hackers to create a solution to save your permanent lock.

    I should have read the instructions… duh. I had to reply to the order confirmation email with my IMEI, instead of waiting for them to… ask. :/ Nooooow I’m officially waiting.

    I have some positive news to report….Finally have my factory unlocked iPhone 4! From my personal experience, officialunlocks.com is legit ’cause I just used them.

    Anyway, so here’s the deal :

    Took just over 2 days but they got it done for me.
    My iphone was on 4.1 firmware and 02.10.04 baseband and It was jailbroken. Had the latest version of itunes on my mac.
    I updated my iPhone to the official 4.3.1 with itunes (I had to restore and then itunes said it was unlocked).
    iPhone was locked to SFR France carrier and I have now Jailbroken back with Redsn0w and backed up activation with SAM. I suggest using SAM just INCASE.

    I tried it and have a factory unlocked iPhone 4. I use officialunlocks and it took just over 2 days. Just a FYI since your waiting for someone else to get fooled ;-)

    And it’s finally unlocked! I used SAM to “de-activate” iphone in order to get the unlock pushed to my iphone without upgrading iOS.

    I must admit that Techsliver.com has been the best website for any news on iPhone unlocks & jailbreaks, and I say this after searching the entire web world. There was always a foreword on any anticipated unlock/jailbreak news on this site before I could find it anywhere else, but the last few days have been disappointing. After months of waiting, finally when the factory unlock has been out and users like me are waiting for reviews on this new technique, its results, feedback, etc., the articles have all dried up. Absolutely no updates between 12th & 14th; then on 15th also there’s nothing new on the unlock still.
    Techsliver, where’s the action? I check your site at least twice a day for some updates but alas…Please…we are waiting.

    LOL! Thanks for the kind words first of all!

    and couple of things..

    1. The status of this new FACTORY unlock is still not confirmed by Many, if
    its Legal or Illegal! Writing about it openly and supporting it can get us
    into trouble! Although if you notice some of the recent posts, we did send
    out some secret links on how and where to find some real nice and trust
    worthy people.

    2. I don’t know if you noticed but we are the only ones who wrote on How to
    backup your factory unlock activation if Apple goes crazy on you! It was
    supported by many including the hackers on twitter.

    3. If you are waiting, or expecting the software unlock (ultrasn0w) for your
    device, then don’t even bother waiting for it :P Only MuscleNerd or GOD
    knows when its coming out! :P

    4. Also, if you were refering to Gevey SIM unlock, we covered it a lot even
    gave out the list of countries it supports even if we were not supposed to
    do that. Giving the list means we totally support it, which we don’t because
    of its illegal status in some countries.

    So, unlocking is a tricky business, there are rules to follow. If you are
    trying to get a word out of me about the Factory Unlock thing, I would say
    YES go for it. Spend a few bucks and get it Factory Unlocked. We do have
    SOME reports of it being legal and we also have SOME reports from the Apple
    Support Forums where people are yelling that the devices are locked again. I
    Suggest if you opt for it, don’t forget to Save the Activation with SAM. If
    you visit every hour, you know where to find it! ;)

    Hey Techsliver, thanks for your prompt reply. I agree with you that you have covered the Gevey Turbo Sim unlock and even the elusive (or non-existent) UltraSnow unlock for 4.1 and higher very nicely. And that’s why I credit you with being the best site for any Apple news. You are also right when you say that I was trying to get your word on whether we should / shouldn’t go for the Factory Unlock. Now that I have it, thanks so much. I’ll be going for the Factory Unlock very soon and maybe share my experience with my fellow readers…hopefully, it’s positive. Have waited for over 6 months now for the unlock, can’t wait anymore :)

    @TechSliver was the NCK unlock from the Dev team a distraction or an actual hope. Atleast an update from them can help us decide, going for the Factory unlock method or not.
    They once again gave a hope without any further news about their software unlock. Even though i can afford the 170 $….. i would like to know if they really are onto something …….

    Dev team …. honor the patiently waiting people and give us some news .

    Well, they are trying the best.. but there is still no luck in it!! they are
    not even sharing the progress! SO its hard to say where they stand on NCK!!
    I say you go with the Factory Unlock option and backup your activation with
    the method I posted to save the Unlock

    Dev team’s announcement on the NCK unlock was almost a month ago … can they not give us an update ?????

    check this out, the video has just been released and I think this is the most optimal (in terms of money and practicability) solution to the iphone 4 carrier unlock problem right now. Unlike the gevey, which has been deemed ‘illegal’, the rebel doesnt seem to require us to call 112.

    FINALLY i can use my itouch…uhhh i mean my IPHONE 4 :D

    Some people who were lucky recieved the unlock, but CutYourSim has discontinued the service. Getting a refund!

    Oh well guess ill go buy some sticky green buds and smoke myself into a coma – then hopefully when i wake from it the Devs have had some progress with NCK brute force.

    I have ordered from rebel sim april 13, upto now i dont receive any update of my order, tracking..etc. Customer support from live chat and sales are really really very rude, they will threaten you that they will cancel your order if you keep on asking status of your order. Since I have placed order i will be scared to ask or even email them for status of my order.

    I think having so much order wouldn’t give justification to be rude on your customers.

    I have experienced on ordering from applenberry when they first released the gevey, they were never rude on customers, never threaten.

    I really hope dev team can release the unlock very soon , so this people from rebel will have a blast.

    I just unlocked my iphone 4g 4.1 bb 2.10.4 using Gevey sim but,
    unfortunately i can’t receive and send picture messages. is it because
    my iphone is not jailbroken? Please send me the instructions in how to
    solve this issue. thanks in advance

    Bonjour Fabrice, j’ai exactement le même soucis que tu avais je suis simlocké sur SFR et je cherche un desimlockage officiel. Je suis allé sur le site dont tu parles mais je n’ai pas vu de desimlockage pour SFR avec l’iphone 4.
    Peux-tu me dire ou il faut aller STP?
