How to Unlock iPhone 4 with Gevey SIM, Without Dialing 112

Here is a very nice tip sent to us by one of our reader, Arash (facepustok). It’s a Cydia tweak which would allow you to use Gevey SIM without dialing 112 number and you can turn your device off and on, take out the SIM, without worrying about dialing 112 every time. This is handy for those living in countries where 112 is illegal to dial without an emergency.

This works on all locked basebands to unlock iPhone 4, and on all Gevey SIMs. Current Gevey users can also install this tweak and get rid of the 112 trouble.

Anyways, here we go:

1. You need a jailbroken iPhone 4 and a Gevey SIM.

2. Remove your SIM Card with Gevey SIM from your iPhone 4.

3. Go to Cydia > Search and type in Mobile Subtrate. If you have it installed click on it and remove it. We don’t need this, so make sure to remove it before proceeding.

4. Go to Manage > Source > Edit > Add and type in: http://cydia.furiousMod.com

5. Once added go to Manage > Sources, and you will see FuriousMod.com. Tap on it and you’ll have FuriousMod, Install it.

6. Turn your iPhone 4 off and insert Your SIM with Gevey. You’re device should restart without full signal bars without dialing 112 or anything.

Warning: This apparently works only with Gevey ULTRA! So carefully follow the procedure!

This is pretty much it, give it a try and let us know. If at some point this fails, try to install Mobile Subtrate first and then install this tweak. Here is a video of it:

Did not work for me. first tried the way its mentioned in the article above, didnt work. Tried to install the mobile substrate and then installed Furious Mod.. didnt work
both the times, it fails to install Furious Mod.. and sends me back to Cydia..

After trying the tweak unsucessfully, the signal bars are again showing as 1 signal bar. same as what happened to the phone after JB’ing it..

i’m using a gevey sim and I have the personal hotspot too. its not only for factory unlocked phones.

this is the Gevey Ultra Sim which does not required 112 to be dialled. its not the original Gevey Sim. Its a new offering altogether and doesn’t apply to the earlier gevey cards

Awesome tip! Remove mobile substrate in Cydia makes all know error like filesize error. Directory and other download fourismod errors. I am not sure however the signal issue described above is directly related to having a pre installed jailbreak. I think you need a fresh clean jailbreak after restore and then add the furiousmod Cydia and install I will try later! Please anyone is this the case? Restore-jailbreak-add furiousmod- install furiousmod And insert sim-reboot!

Just received an gevey ultra from applenberry I can unlock using 112 method easy and it works! But furiousmod installs after substrate are removed! Im on a pre jailbroken 04.10.01 version 4.33 ! Furious mod installs correctly but after reboot there is 1 bar. But it never registers correctly! My suspicions there has to be a clean jailbreak to work?!

Same thing happens to me. The furiousmod repository starts to install, but fails in the end. it says:
HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found,
Failed to fetch
Http://cydia.furiousmod.com/.Packages.gz
Anyone knows what this means?

I get the Return to Cydia button, the furiousmod is added to the sources but when I click it I get a white screen where the info/install stuff should be.
Please help I have been without my iphone4 since September, starting to think throwing it in the ocean will be the only solution!!!

are any of your jailbreaks with jailbreakme.com? if yes I am having the same problem. I suggest to jailbreak threw redsn0w. that worked for me. i was just trying this jailbreak see if it would work for me

I have successfully done mine…i happen to have the furiousmod as an application on my phone which give me an option to turn my data roaming on or off. Either way, Im yet to recieve any form of data connectivity on my phone.any suggestions on how I can go about it?
