Universal Toolkit Makes Root And Recovery For US Variants Of SGSIII Super Easy

The Samsung Galaxy S III has been praised by users worldwide for being one of the best smartphones to date. Developers and normal users alike have taken to the device. Apart from the crisp display, sleek design and the many features that the device comes packed with, another reason for its popularity is that the device has already been rooted courtesy Samsung shipping the device with an unlocked bootloader with the sole exception of the US Verizon Variant and even that has been rooted, despite Verizon’s annoying lockdown.

If you own the latest device from Samsung or are planning on getting it, you will undoubtedly be immensely pleased by the fact that the flagship device now has its very own toolkit too, thanks to XDA Developers! Toolkits are essentially a whole bunch of amazing features crammed into one little package. Usually, toolkits give users the ability to perform numerous modifications to their phone immensely easily making them perfect for everybody.

This toolkit for the Samsung Galaxy S III is thanks to developer “mskip” and is only for three US variants for now. Similar to other toolkits, the developer has not been stingy with the number of features offered.

A complete list of features offered by this toolkit is as follows:

Install drivers automatically
Backup/Restore a single package or all apps, user data and Internal Storage
Backup your /data/media (virtual SD Card) to your PC for a Full Safe backup of data
Perform a FULL NANDROID Backup of your system via adb and save in Custom Recovery format on your PC

Backup/Restore your /efs partition
Dump selected Phone Partitions, compress to a .zip file with md5 and save to your PC

Some people might perceive this to be difficult because of the interface. In truth, it doesn’t get any simpler than this. All you have to do is basically download the correct version based on your version. Also note that this toolkit is not to be used on any non-Snapdragon device. The images are incompatible and will cause issues if you try using this toolkit on any non-Snapdragon SGSIII.

The toolkit isn’t for Verizon users yet, likely because of the locked bootloader again. For users of Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile, it doesn’t get any easier than this though.

If you want to, you can simply load the software and then choose option 1 and 2 to install proper drivers and root your device, respectively. If you want both root and recovery, you can go for the awesome option 3 that offers it all. All you have to do is simply follow the onscreen instructions!

Before you begin using this toolkit, please remember that this will probably void your phone’s warranty and if incorrectly used could brick your device. Proceed at your own risk.
