Unbrick US Variants (Sprint, AT&T or T-Mobile) Of Samsung Galaxy S III! [How To]

While attempting to modify firmware many of us make mistakes and end up bricking our devices. Once bricked, your device can no longer function. Since rendering a device unusable is not a desired outcome, sometimes there’s no fix without OEM support. This is especially true in the case of hard bricks.

As far as soft bricks are concerned, they are usually fixable. That holds true for the US variants of the Samsung Galaxy S III too. If you have accidentally managed to soft brick your device trying to flash a GSM boot image, you can now fix it. Since the device was launched pretty recently, users are still figuring out what will result in bricking of a device and what won’t. Apparently trying to flash a GSM boot image doesn’t go down too well but it can now be fixed thanks to an XDA developer’s member.

The process for each US variant of the device is identical. However, different files are used so make sure you use the ones meant for your specific device. The process to un-brick your device is rather simple. You will be required to simply download your phone’s stock boot image and use Odin to flash it. That’s all that needs to be done to restore your brand new Samsung Galaxy S III to working status. Please note that this process will not work if you need to restore to a stock, unrooted ROM.

Check out the guides below. (They are excerpts from the original thread).
