The past 3 months have been full of exciting news and update related jailbreak ever since Pod2g announced that he might have a solution to the jailbreak crisis. True to his words, just two days after Christmas, Pod2g’s untethered jailbreak was released for iOS 5.0.1. Supporting A4 and older devices like iPhone 4, iPad 1, iPhone 3GS, the jailbreak was released through Cydia’s Corona and Redsnow.
Disappointing though, Pod2g’s progress only applied to devices running on the older A4 chip and older devices. Many users will have clung to iOS 4.3.3 or previous to enjoy the untethered loveliness laid on by Comex or the Chronic Dev-Team, but now those users can enjoy Apple’s latest iOS with Notification Center and over 200 new features and additions.

iPhone 4S and iPad 2 users still have to wait just a few more days before Pod2g and his team release a working untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.0.1.
