Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Launch For 29th August Not Confirmed Yet!

Only yesterday, we got a news from an unnamed company representative that Samsung will unveil Galaxy Note 2 on the 29th August at it’s IFA 2012 “Unpacked” event in Berlin. Considering the fact that on 29th August last year, the first Galaxy Note was launched, the news seemed quite believable. However, “we cannot disclose information on what will be unveiled” a subsequent company rep told AllThingsD when questioned.

The new Galaxy Note 2 is rumored to feature a 5.5-inch display, a narrower bezel meaning the phone itself can be no larger than the existing model. Leaked benchmarks suggest the Note 2 is to have an Exynos quadcore processor – like the Galaxy S III - clocked at 1.6GHz. There’s also evidence of a 1280 x 720 screen resolution and Ice Cream Sandwich as the OS; other news has indicated the camera will be polished as well.

The first Galaxy Note was a huge success for Samsung. Let’s see how well the Note 2 does as a few weeks after it’s launch, the Next-gen iPhone 5 and the iPad Mini is reported to be revealed and the competition will be tough for the Android device.
