Developers continue to amaze by rooting devices before said devices even begin to ship. Case in point: The Google Nexus 7 running the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. We were introduced to this device at the Google I/O some time back and only a few days after it was successfully rooted. Now, this device has an extremely convenient one click root solution. What’s more is that this one click solution will also install ClockworkMod Recovery. This makes it extremely simple to root your Nexus 7, once you get your hands on it and is especially great for people who don’t feel like following too many steps.
The entire method couldn’t simply be more possible. Read the instructions below to root your Nexus 7 running Jelly Bean.
Please note that TechSliver will not be responsible for bricking or any other damage to your device. Proceed at your own risk. Rooting your device will also void its warranty.
Your tablet will need an unlocked bootloader. If your bootloader is locked, all your data WILL be wiped for sure so it’s a good idea to unlock your bootloader first.
It is also generally recommended that you backup everything on your PC before proceeding with any root process.
You will also need One Click Root for Nexus 7.
Step 1: Download the One Click Root solution whose link is given above. Once downloaded, extract the contents. You may also want to download and set up the Android Software Development Kit.
Step 2: Enable USB Debugging on your Nexus 7. Now connect it to the PC via USB cable.
Step 3: Run root.exe from the contents you extracted earlier. The required USB drivers, ADB/Fastboot EXEs, and concerned SuperSU, ClockworkMod Recovery files are all already included in this file. Follow on-screen instructions.
Step 4: Once done, reboot your device. Your Nexus 7 should now be successfully rooted, given you followed all the steps correctly! You can now go ahead and download all your favorite root enabled applications and enjoy complete control over your device.
