Universal Root Methods For Almost All Ice Cream Sandwich Running Devices

Nearly every device has a slightly different method of being rooted. Most people root their devices regardless of the risk of bricking and/or voiding warranty simply to gain complete control over their respective phones and to enjoy all the development only devices with root access can. Unfortunately, updating to new firmware most often revokes root. However, nearly always custom recovery is left well alone and perfectly intact even after updating to the latest version of some OS. For all such people with intact custom recoveries, devices running Ice Cream Sandwich who require root access, a really helpful and nearly universal guide consisting of root guides and helpful links has been put together by an XDA member. image If updating to Ice Cream Sandwich has taken away root access from your device, head over to the original thread on XDA Developers and check it out. Different methods have been given and these have all been tested as working on several ICS running devices. The thread’s instructions work not only for Samsung Galaxy S II but other Samsung and non-Samsung devices too. Links for Odin and SU are also given. All in all, it is a pretty neat piece of work.
