We have reported various rumours concerning the upcoming Apple device recently. Here’s another one, straight from Rene Ritchie of the website iMore: The iPad 3 will be announced on March 7. iMore claims that sources that have previously been ‘”reliable” have tipped the website. This latest report also backs previous speculations concerning the device, and goes on to say that the device will feature Retina Display, a quad-core A6 chip as well as improved cameras.

Although a source hasn’t been named, this is one of the most credible out of all the reports going around. TiPB, as iMore was previously known, does not cover rumours too often. However, the site not only correctly reported the iPhone 4S’s nature before it’s release, but also guessed the date pretty well. They were off only by a week. What makes iMore’s report even more reliable is that others support it. Reports by other well-known sites such as AllThingsD and Jim Dalrymple’s subsequent confirmation of that report back this rumour. (AllThingsD reported that the iPad 3 would see a first-week-of-March release).
March 7 also happens to be a Wednesday, and Apple traditionally holds events like these on Wednesdays. Both the iPad 1 and 2 were released on the same day.

The features reported by iMore bring us back to a quad-core processor. Rumours that the processor might be dual-core have been floating around, but these are negated once again. Whatever happens though, it is almost definite that the hardware will get updated. If not a quad-core A6 chip it will at least come along with a dual-core A6 chip.
4G wireless functionality and networking remains a mystery as far as the iPad 3 is concerned. If gained, this will allow the tabet to connect with LTE networks such as AT&T and Verizon. iMore reports that the iPhone 5 will be LTE compatible, but for the iPad 3 it is uncertain. If it does, international coverage seems unlikely.
The 2048× 1536 Retina Display, after being seen on the iPhone 4S, seems almost certain for the future tablet. Implementation of this high density display might also lead to a slightly thicker case to accommodate a larger battery.
Obviously, buzz surrounding the device has reached a new high. All these reports, seemingly reliable or not, are just rumours at the end of the day. And nothing is certain till Apple officially announces and unveils the device, possibly on March 7.
