Apple has released the latest firmware update for their mobile operating system. iOS 6 is now available as an over-the-air update for iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPad 2, iPad 3 and 4th-gen iPod Touch.
Users can upgrade their iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad to iOS 6 by going to Settings>General>Software Update. From there, the download and installation process can begin directly on the device. Alternatively, users can also download and install iOS 6 on their device by plugging it in to a Mac or Windows PC and launching iTunes.
Apple’s official description reads, "This update contains over 200 new features, including all new Apple-designed Maps, Siri features, Facebook integration, Shared Photo Streams, Passbook, and more,".
iOS 6 was first unveiled at Apple’s Worldwide Developers Conference back in June. A tethered jailbreak was available for the beta version released a few weeks back. Apart from the existing iDevices, iPhone 5 and 5th-gen iPod Touch will feature the new iOS 6.
