Here’s some great news for anyone who has already purchased or is looking to purchase Samsung’s latest flagship device. An immensely simple SIM unlock is now available for the Samsung Galaxy S III. This is only for the I93000 model, but that’s good enough for a start.

For those who are unaware, unlocking is basically a process that allows you to free a device locked to a certain carrier, and use it with some other carrier instead; one that gets better signal reception or has lower rates, perhaps. For instance, you can unlock an iPhone locked to AT&T’s carrier and use it with some other GSM carrier. In this case, you can now unlock your Samsung Galaxy S III and use it with any carrier you wish to, other than the one it originally came with. Although some people would suggest simply calling up your carrier and asking them to unlock your device (which they should happily do, since you are required to keep paying till contract termination), that is most often not the case. This is where developers and modders save the day, as usual. And once again they have come to the rescue by making an extremely simple method available to unlock your shiny new Samsung Galaxy S III.

Before you head over to the method, make sure your Samsung Galaxy S III is both model I93000 and rooted. To make sure your device is the GT-i9300 navigate to Settings > About device > Model Number on your Samsung Galaxy S III.

Root Samsung Galaxy S III GT-i9300 the easy (or easiest) way with CF-Root for SGSIII. This is especially helpful if you’re a beginner and don’t have much experience rooting, it’s possibly the easiest root out there and perfect for someone who’s just starting. Alternatively, you can follow another one of our step-by-step guides to root your Samsung Galaxy S III.

Once you are done with the root, all that needs to be done is to hit the download link given at the end of this page. If your device is already rooted, the whole process will take mere seconds and you’ll be done. Either ways, unlocking your device will not take much time at all.
The file you’ll be downloading is an .apk file. Before the unlock, back up your data. The unlock itself is labeled Beta currently, simply because the auto-restore feature isn’t yet fully operational.
To summarize, the .apk file is free, requires root, GT-I9300 ONLY, and beta version.
