News of the release of Google Chrome for Android devices is now being followed up with another treat. Microsoft is making it’s popular app OneNote available to the entire Android market. Previously, this app was iOS exclusive, before being launched for the Windows Phone 7.

In a blog post two days back, Microsoft’s Michael Oldenburg said, “Mobile versions of OneNote are currently available on Windows Phone, iPhone, iPad, and now Android. No matter which platform you prefer, OneNote Mobile lets you easily capture and access all of your notes and ideas on the go.”

Microsoft’s handy client brings with it a set of pretty cool features. To access these features, users will be required to sign in to their Windows Live ID. If you don’t already have one, you can easily sign up using the app itself. Once done, features like syncing your device with your SkyDrive account for notes/notebooks can be enjoyed. This software allows you to take graphically rich notes and save them online to your SkyDrive cloud. A complete list of features OneNote enables you to enjoy are:
- Text formatting, images, and bulleted list
- To-do lists with click-able check boxes
- Quick photo capture with your phone’s camera
- Quick access to recent notes
- Store and access multiple OneNote notebooks
- Sync to your free SkyDrive account for access anywhere
- Offline access to your notes
- Option to sync notebooks only over a Wi-Fi connection
- Built-in spelling checker
- Support for external hyperlinks
- Table editing
The app is free of cost for up to 500 notes after which, if you wish to do so, you can continue use at the expense of $4.99. If you choose not to buy it however, you can still view, delete and sync existing notes.

If you already have one of the many popular note apps that the Android Market has to offer, you may not need this app. One app that stands out is Evernote. This app is available for multiple platforms but OneNote is fast closing in on that too. OneNote is certainly the Microsoft Office Suite’s most prominent software, and is worth checking out especially since it is initially free of cost. Grab the app from the link given below.
