The team at XDA has begun successful porting of the immensely popular Counter Strike to Android handsets. Counter Strike aka CS is a First-Person Shooter game, that could well be said to be the game that started the whole FPS craze. This classic that pretty much parented an entire genre in gaming, can now be played on your very own Android.

XDA re-coded the game using Unity3D platform, and then begun porting it to smartphones. The game supports multiplayer and can be downloaded now. However, since the port isn’t official yet, there are sure to be bugs and snags in the game. The release is also fresh, and it will certainly take some time for everything in it to be perfected. The full game will be recreated at some point by the dedicated team over at XDA, in all it’s glory. For an Android gaming fan this version will probably do. The full version is expected soon.
CS supports only two versions 5o (for Android 2.0+) and 6p (for Android 2.3+) presently. Tablet gamers are out of luck just now. However, Sony Ericsson Xperia Play owners get are luckier, since they not only get the game but also better controls using the gamepad. This will give them an edge over other players even though both Android and Xperia users will be able to download the game.
Download the game, and let us know how it goes.
