Pod2g continues with giving updates on how much progress has been made and what remains to be done with regard to the upcoming untethered jailbreak. The famous iOS security researcher has now revealed that he managed to untethered jailbreak the third generation iPad running iOS 5.1. This news came in via Twitter, as usual.

Apple only just pushed out the latest firmware version, iOS 5.1.1 to iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad users. And ion1c has already managed a jailbreak on his new, third generation iPad running iOS 5.1.1! The dev has teased with a photo posted on Twitter; check it out yourself:
