Apple released iOS 5.1.1 – a software update for all iDevices – just yesterday. The update contains the usual bug fixes and has basically been released in order to appease users who have been complaining about the new iPad’s performance. The update brings the following bug patches and improvements with it:

Although Apple, Microsoft and Google (the recently launched Google Drive) all have cloud-based services, Dropbox is definitely the most popular cloud service out there as well as being amongst the first to be launched. The large numbers of competitors ensures that the very best cloud service possible is provided and the amount of free storage [...]

The hackers working on an untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.1 have kept people informed throughout, whether they’re working on new exploits or they’ve found a few. Pod2g especially has been rather active on Twitter and has made keeping up with updates regarding the jailbreaks status easy. Just a few days back, he told us about [...]

Facebook has made it a routine to introduce annoying new features every now and then. Based on the face that the Facebook user count is approaching 1 billion, it is least bothered by the fact that a certain feature is not generally liked by the public. We have seen that in the past with the [...]

The very best mobile apps of 2012 were celebrated last night in an event hosted by Dermot O’Leary and sponsored by Carphone Warehouse – Europe’s largest independent mobile phone retailer. The ‘Appy Awards’ marked successful and popular apps in twelve different categories.

As the belief that Apple computers are immune to malware prevails, despite being recently tarnished, a research firm Sophos has challenged it with a study. This recently released study claims that 1 in 5 Macs have malware based on a 100,000-strong snapshot of the millions of Macs that downloaded Sophos’ free antivirus software for Macs.

Fragmentation within Android remains a big problem for Google. Where Apple’s software updates are comparatively uniform, only a miserably percentage of around 1% Android devices are currently on the latest and supposedly greatest Ice Cream Sandwich. This percentage is bound to increase though, as official ROMs begin to arrive in increasing numbers. Another one is [...]

Fierce opposition by a broad alliance of companies and civil liberties groups, backed by innumerable internet activists, led to the demise of the detested SOPA (Stop Online Piracy Act) and PIP (Protect IP) act earlier this year. And now, a worrying, similar rendition of these earlier bills has come into the limelight- H.R. 3523 or [...]
