Ever feel the need to check the time or your battery percentage while playing a game? Running fullscreen apps means you are cutoff from your status bar and some don’t like that. There is a jailbreak tweak that allows you to do exactly that.

Taking backup and restoring to the same device is easy for everyone, switching to another device with same OS is again a piece of cake. But the tricky part comes when you change the Device and the OS both, you don’t want to lose your contacts, email, SMS, Calendar, Images etc. This is one of the main reason why people avoid switching to anther platform.
So anyways, all new Windows Phone 8 are announced and many are willing to grab one and try the new OS and its new features. This tiny little App “SaveIt” can save you’re a lot of time. You can transfer all your data from iOS and Android devices to Windows Phone 8 Devices. (BlackBerry and Symbian are supported as well).
I am sure many of you know that Apple isn’t signing old iOS for any device, only iOS 6 is getting signed by Apple server, which means you cannot restore your iOS 5.xx device to the same iOS again using iTunes.
iOS 6 was pushed out to iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch users a few weeks back. If you are on iOS 5.0.1 or iOS 5.1.1, you will be greeted with “Update Your iOS version” notification and If you are on a jailbroken iOS 5.0.1 iPad or iPhone, you really don’t want to proceed with the iOS 6 update. unfortunately, if you are one of those unlucky ones who accidently accepted that request and are wondering what to do, this guide is for you.
Grant Paul, better knows as Chpwn, has updated his website Jailbreak.kr and the news is not good. The iOS hacker says “Nothing available right now” for iOS 6 jailbreak.
Jailbreak Tweak DisplayCandy Lets You Add Cool Animations For Opening, Closing Or Switching Between Apps
Apple’s iOS is largely considered one of the best operation systems out there, offering a smooth and great user experience. However, although iOS itself comes packed with some great apps, what really makes the experience so awesome is personalization and the use of numerous third party apps, perhaps purchased from the App Store. However, native or third party, the fact remains that everything on an iPhone is handled via Apps. Continue reading →
All iPhone users who are also frequent texters have had reason to be concerned lately. Renowned French developer Pod2g took to his blog to warn Apple to fix a major security loophole that has been present in all iPhones, since 2007. The hacker discovered that iPhones are extremely vulnerable to an SMS spoofing attack as a result of which they could leak important information. The spoof, in short, would basically be a person with ill intentions sending a message to you, posing as just about anyone, and specifying a reply-to number. When you reply, you could essentially leak important information. Here’s how Pod2g explained it and why it could be a major issue for you:
If a survey is conducted, almost all smartphone users would complain that the worst thing about their latest gadgets is the horrible battery timing. Whether it’s Android or iOS, each new firmware update seems to be reducing battery life. However, there are developers out there who try to mend the problems created by the OS developers in the first place.
Following the long awaited release of Absinthe 2.0, the Chronic Dev Team pushed out another version, Absinthe 2.0.1 for Mac, Windows and Linux. This update is meant to fix a small number of bugs present in the original release.
The hackers working on an untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.1 have kept people informed throughout, whether they’re working on new exploits or they’ve found a few. Pod2g especially has been rather active on Twitter and has made keeping up with updates regarding the jailbreaks status easy. Just a few days back, he told us about the ETA of the untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.1. The latest update is also courtesy of this renowned iOS hacker. He tweeted that he had a ‘productive weekend’ and managed to find ‘2 big vulnerabilities’. These include 1 kernel land and 1 root land – a step that could prove to be essential on the way to achieving an untethered jailbreak on the latest version of iOS.
It wasn’t even past 10 days after Apple released their latest OS alongside the New iPad that the work begun on finding the untethered jailbreak for iOS 5.1. Stefen Essar, better known by his alias @i0n1c was the guy who worked out the codes and exploits and handed them over to iPhone Dev Team who released it through Redsn0w for the first ever jailbreak and it was him once again who posted photos of an iPad 2 with jailbreak running on iOS 5.1 just a few days after the release of iOS 5.1.
A few hours back today, renowned hacker Pod2g, the ex team member of the Chronic Dev team tweeted about iOS 5.1 jailbreak for A5+ devices. Three different hackers have already been successful in discovering how to jailbreak iOS 5.1 on the 3rd-gen iPad, namely MuscleNerd (of the iPhone Dev Team), i0n1c and chpwn. None of these jailbreak methods have been released publicly however, and from Pod2g’s tweets today it is evident that a public release is rather far away right now.
In the past, we have written about how you can downgrade to older firmware versions from iOS 5.1. However, that method only worked for older devices and not for the iPhone 4S and iPad 2- devices powered by the A5 processor. Firmware downgrades have not been possible on these two devices as yet. However, that may well change thanks to the renowned iOS dev iH8sn0w.
iOS users previously had to wait quite a while before getting their hands on an untethered jailbreak. However, as things are, this time the wait ought not to seem so interminable. With the new iPad released just ten days back, the devoted hackers out there have apparently been bent on finding an untethered jailbreak method for the entire jailbreak community and have been successful in doing so. What’s even more surprising than the rate at which the hackers/developers have managed this is the number that has done so.
iPad 3 jailbreak has become a competition it seems as every famous hacker seems to be working on it and showing off their skills at cracking the codes and making an untethered jailbreak for iPad 3 available. Just a few hours back, MuscleNerd of the iPhone Dev Team tweeted about untethered jailbreak for iPad 3 with pictures of an iPad 3 alongside to prove it.
