The rumors have been going around for quite some time now that Apple is planning on shifting from the older 30-pin dock connector to the smaller 19 or 8-pin doc connector. Up till now, iPhone 5 and iPad Mini, that have been suspected for a 12th September launch in a media event by Apple, were the latest devices to allegedly feature the new dock connector. However, latest report suggests that Apple is planning to release a whole new lineup of devices that will be upgraded to the new hardware.
iMore, a blog that features Apple related news has reported that Apple will release the new iPhone 5, the the new iPod Nano and iPod Touch, the rumored 7-inch iPad Mini, and an updated version of the 9.7-inch iPad3, all in the 12 September media event. Rumors about the new smaller dock connector have been swirling around for the past few weeks. If Apple is planning on switching to the smaller dock connector, eventually they will update their devices but just a few months after the launch of iPad 3 or the New iPad as Apple calls it, it is highly unlikely that Apple will release another updated version so soon.
