As you might know, Japan has been one of those places where Earthquakes are causing destruction very fast. According to 9to5Mac, Apple has now embedded an earthquake alarm system especially for Japanese users so they can take preventive measures accordingly.

The following is how Time magazine describes the system:

Japan has the most advanced earthquake early-warning system in the world. A nationwide online system launched in 2007, it detects tremors, calculates an earthquake’s epicenter and sends out brief warnings from its 1,000-plus seismographs scattered throughout the country, one of the most earthquake-prone nations on the planet.

This is certainly a very good feature that Apple has introduced and may save lives even after the horrible 9.0 earthquake and the aftershocks shook all of Japan. However, it would certainly be nice to see if Apple takes this system and applies to anyone anywhere all over the world. That would not restrict this technology to Japanese users only. With this warning system, users will receive early warnings at the bottom of their new Notification center settings pane.
