The wait is over, Absinthe released to untethered jailbreak iPhone 4S and iPad 2 on iOS 5.0.1. A big thanks to Pod2g for finding the exploit and to the Chronic and Dev team members as well for all the efforts and time they have put in developing Absinthe.

The supported devices and firmware for Absinthe are:

  • iPhone 4S running iOS 5.0, 5.0.1 (9A405 and 9A406)
  • iPad 2 Wifi/GSM/CDMA running iOS 5.0.1

Almost 3 months of agonizing wait and dozens of updates by hackers and Dev teams, the untethered jailbreak for Apples A5 based devices iPhone 4S and iPad2 is finally here.

Go ahead and download Absinthe and enjoy iOS 5.0.1 untethered on your iPhone 4S or iPad 2. Right now we have just the MAC version of it PC version will be released in a while. The team pulle dit because of some issues, stay tuned and we’ll let you know as soon as its out.

Till then, Mac users can Download Absinthe for Mac and enjoy the untethered iOS 5.0.1 jailbreak on iPhone 4S or iPad 2.

The procedure is simple, just update to iOS 5.0.1 using latest iTunes and run Absinthe tool to jailbreak your device.

Update 1: Fix “Error Establishing a Database Connection”

If you are having Error Establishing a Database Connection error, you can fix it by going to Settings > General > Network > VPN > ON.
