Pod2g, ever since his claim in November to have found an exploit for iOS 5 and for iPhone 4S, has been in the limelight. After a long and agonizing wait, iOS 5 users with Apples A4 and older devices were able to finally untethered jailbreak their iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS and rest. On 27th of Decenmber last year, the untethered jailbreak was released via Corona from Cydia. Ever since then A5 based device users were counting on Pod2g and his team to release the untethered jailbreak for their iPhone 4S and iPad2.

Pod2g and his Dream Team members, Planetbeing, MuscleNerd and Posixninja alongside iPhone Dev Team and Chronic Dev Team worked day and night in their efforts to release the untethered jailbreak for iPhone 4S and iPad2 as soon as possible. Facing difficulties and overcoming them, at last the untethered jailbreak for iPhone 4S and iPad2 was released on 20th January 2012.

Chronic Dev Team designed a special tool Absinthe for the jailbreak. An easy to use tool, the users simply had to click once to jailbreak iPhone 4S and iPad2. At first, only the Mac version for Absinthe was released and Windows users had to wait a little longer. Almost 15 hours later the Windows version was uploaded on greenpois0n website.

Finally, the Linux version for Absinthe has been released and is available for download.
